This is an essay I completed for a Popular Music and Society class in 2009. It is a song analysis and contextualisation of the Gang of Four track “Anthrax“, from the Entertainment! LP released in 1979. I discuss the song in the context of the band’s political leanings, and perhaps contradictory affiliation with major labels EMI and Warner.
