For a special live broadcast by Triple R at the Golden Plains music festival, I created this special Facebook page app that compiled Instagram photos, our tweets, and the live streaming audio.
The Instagram photos were pulled via Instagram’s relatively awful APIs, using a hacked-together scraper to update new photos live on the page. My scraper was largely inspired by potomak’s jquery-instagram implementation, The images were drawn from our and user-submitted photos tagged at the music festival’s location. Unfortunately Instagram’s API is not built for this style of application, but more for viewing one’s own photos. Tweets were pulled using elektronaut’s simple jquery.livetwitter. Audio was provided by the surprisingly trusty Google Reader mp3 player (works with shoutcast streams too!!). Styling and design was by myself.
